Music Tuesdays: Kait Weston

The challenge of life is to take a single strand of dream and from it, weave a beautiful reality. These words hold strong for 21-year-old Westchester, New York singer and songwriter Kait Weston. Kait began singing at the age of 12; her passion for music only grew from there, when she started performing in her junior year of high school.

While most often singing song covers, over the past few months Weston has been writing her own original songs about the times and trials of life and love. With the inspiration of her own life and the lives of those close to her, Weston has found a beautiful way to reach out through her music. She inspires others who want to make it big to follow their heart and believe in their dreams.

To be someone’s wish for the Make-A-Wish Foundation is Weston’s biggest dream.

Those children deserve everything. I see a ton of stories of children who look up to their favorite singers.

Weston is well on her way to weaving a beautiful reality for herself. With already over 15,000 fans on her YouTube page, she was invited to sing on the Ellen Degeneres Show in February, and performed live at the NYCB Theatre in May. Weston has just released her newest original single, Carry Me Home, a beautiful and touching song about loved ones going off to war and the difficulty of saying goodbye.

Weston is a perfect example of a young, driven star that believes that she can do anything she sets her mind to.

What the mind can perceive, the body can achieve, said Weston in a Rising Star Magazine interview. Basically this means that your thoughts become your actions. Stay positive and never give up.

A regular girl from a small town who did open-mic nights in front of crowds of about fifty, is paving the way for others like herself who dream of seeing their name in lights.
