Blogs We Love: The Vogue Vibes
When the worlds of fashion and music collide, as with any collaboration, it's either a hit (Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B.) or a miss (Lindsay Lohan for Ungaro). As I'm never one to waste a persons time (at least not on purpose), they'll be no more talk of misses on my watch, only hits. So today's fashion and music hit is The Vogue Vibes.
Created and curated by the lovely Lauren Valenti, The Vogue Vibes explores the latest in fashion and music from the vantage point that each of these industries is inexplicably linked. The result, not surprisingly, is more engrossing coverage that provides a better overview of a musical performance or fashion show than if it were covered from only one angle.
A great example of this can be found in Lauren's fashion show coverage. She not only explains the looks, makeup, and models coming down the runway, but she also reaches out to the shows coordinator (when necessary) to get the music track list and comments about the song selections in her post. This not only gives the reader a better idea of what the show was like, but it also provides a nice way to find new music.

Runway Track List:
- Carte Postale (Radio Edit) by Slove
- Cliché by The Shoes
- I Want It by Locussolus
- X girl by Teenage bad girl
- Saké (Original Version) by Jupiter
- Saké (In Flagranti Remix) by Jupiter
On the flip side, if Lauren's covering a concert, she notes the style of the general crowd (hipster for example), as well as the style and outfits of the musical acts. She makes sure to include pictures so you can see the outfits, as well music from the set (when available). Once again, the coverage is wider and makes a lot of sense because a lot of musical artists express themselves not only through their music, but through their clothes. And a lot of designers get inspiration from music.
