How To Discover New Songs Ten Times Faster

Music enthusiasts…say, “Bye,” to the days where one would frequent a Myspace artist’s
page for the newest released track, or better yet, actually wait for their music to come
out. Hah! It’s 2012 and artists self-release their music on blogs leveraging fans to their
music ten times faster than the standard record label can. While the actual topic of how
the music industry has changed can be saved for later, discovering the newest song or
underground trend is best examined by how we are finding out about the latest music.
Many music lovers use Last.fm to “scrobble”, or discover new music. At least they did
before now. CloudDeck is a music browser desktop app that recommends a daily music
selection. The unique aspect of the application is that one can listen to music without
opening their web browser. Overall, the app does a really good job streamlining favorite
bands with new music that has a similar sound. Although every now and then it provides
me with something random, it does a nice job satisfying my musical needs and cravings
for the next best thing.
