A line divides north from south in Sudan -- created by a civil war that raged for 40 years. It was brewed in oil, and steeped in blood and smoke. The chaos scarred the land and scattered its people. But today, the newly-defined southern nation flows with optimism as the seeds of prosperity are nurtured with water.

Spring represents rebirth in many symbolic traditions and this certainly is ubiquitously espoused by many a fresh, flourishing imagery. Although our March “What Dreams May Come” editorial is all about the power of blossoming, it is the strength inherent in this forthright action that is truly beautiful.
